Win The Big Moments

Who else was on the edge of their seat all Super Saturday?? We couldn't have asked for a more electric 2026 Men's Six Nations. This tournament was defined by which teams could stay accurate when the stakes were highest. The margins were thin, the moments were massive, and the teams that stepped up came away victorious.

Wales’ win over Italy was a statement about resilience, not dominance. Their win came down to controlling the tempo and playing like men possessed. After a 15 game losing streak, the Welsh played with the emotional charge that we've been waiting for. That, plus their constant pressure on attack and defense, left Italy unable to gain their bearings. Speaking of Italy, despite their own historic win just one week prior, they proved that it takes more than a few standout players to pull out consistent big wins. For both nations, their future success will come down to building their player pool are raising the talent floor.

I'm not gonna lie, I was rooting for Scotland, but Ireland crushed those hopes. Ireland finally started to figure things out and play some solid rugby. When they played well, they controlled possession and controlled territory. But throughout the tournament they failed to convert their pressure into enough scoreboard impact:

  • Their red‑zone efficiency dipped at key moments.

  • Their defensive reads were a half‑step slower than usual under sustained pressure.

  • They couldn’t generate the same multi‑phase suffocation that has been their trademark.

Scotland’s attack looked dangerous in spurts, but their inconsistency in high‑leverage situations cost them. They created opportunities but didn’t finish them, and their defensive shape broke down after extended phase play.

France’s win over England was a masterclass in composure under pressure. Both coming off a loss and with everything to prove, it was nothing short of exciting. With 13 tries between the two of them, attacking rugby was rewarded this tournament, and on full display this match. There's much to say about this match but it all came down to a lack of discipline on defense when it mattered most, and the reliable boot of Thomas Ramos.

I think we can agree that most rugby is won through winning the little moments - accurate passing, securing rucks, making tackles... But these BIG moments, these defining moments, need to be capitalized on if you wanna win big games.
